Base Rates and the 10 Tiers - Since August 2024
Water billing is comprised of two primary parts: the Base Rate (based on meter size) and the Water Usage billed in 1000 gallon increments. A brief sketch of these changes are:
Base Rate for a standard 5/8" meter------------- $55 / month
Implementation of a 10-tier rate plan------------$4.25 to $8 / per 1000 gallons
Late Fee after 20th day of month------------------$20 / month

G.7. Monthly Charges
a. Base Rate
The monthly charge for standard metered water service is for a 5/8” by 3/4” meter. The Base Rate for larger meter sizes will be determined by the following multipliers.

b. Gallonage Charge - In addition to the Base Rate, a Gallonage Charge shall be added at the following rates during any one (1) billing period.

Mustang Valley's water meters are read between the 24th - 28th days of the month. The bills are sent primarily by mail within 2 business days of being read. If your mail service is slow, we suggest you set a reoccurring reminder for the 5th of each month in your smart phone to call 254-597-2445 and ask us for the amount due on your account if your bill did not arrive. We are happy to be of service to you. Payments are due on the 20th of each month.

A Typical Installation Using a Standard 5/8" x 3/4" Meter
| Standard installations must have a Mustang Valley main line already on your property. Upon engineering approval and payment, the Mustang Team adds the company's water meter within approximately 5-7 feet of the main water line. We also install two tools that become the landowner's property. They are a PRV (Pressure Regulating Valve) and a Cut-off Valve. Non-Standard Installations involve extra work getting the line to your property. A cost analysis will be made for each different situation, $1500 and up. |

Transfer of an Active MVWSC Account
| When you purchase a property with an active Mustang Valley Water account, then the previous owner usually elects to sign a notarized form authorizing the transfer of their membership to you. The Buyer has 30 days to claim the membership by completing the Service Application and Agreement, and other docs as may apply. | Water is billed after it is used, so the buyer and seller can negotiate the payment of the bill following closing. |
